Dr. Jameel Althagfi is the Chairman of the Department of Chemistry at KFUPM. Dr. Althagfi obtained his B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 2001 and 2004 respectively and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from York University, Toronto in 2014. His research interests lie in the synthesis of metal complexes, homogeneous catalysis and applications of computational chemistry. Dr. Althagfi began his career in KFUPM as a Lecturer in 2004, became an Asst. Professor in 2014 in the Department of Chemistry and also served as a Chairman of the Life Sciences Department (2017-2021).
