Bioengineering Department

The Bioengineering department is currently offering BS in Bioengineering and MS in Life Sciences with courses in the field of biomechanics, biomedical engineering, bioelectronics, bioinformatics, genetic engineering, bioinstrumentation and relevant bioengineering areas. The emphasis of the department is to establish a greater synergy between biosciences and engineering fields, which is a major strategic objective for the Kingdom to be achieved for the fulfilment of its VISION 2030.

Chemical Engineering Department

As with the Department of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering is one of the oldest engineering departments at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM). Chemical engineering is defined as a profession that uses mathematics, physics and chemistry for the benefit of humanity. Chemical and physical principles are used to design processes and turn raw materials into valuable products to improve the life of the average person.

Chemistry Department

The Department of Chemistry is one of the founding departments at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) and one of the leading Chemistry departments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The department includes more than 30 distinguished faculty members committed to teaching and research in a wide range of applications and subdisciplines. The department offers undergraduate and graduate programs that include B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry.

Materials Science and Engineering Department

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering was established in 2021. Materials Science and Engineering is the study of characteristics and uses of various materials, such as metals, ceramics, and plastics, that are employed in science and technology. The department offers a graduate and an undergraduate program that has been designed to cope with the modern trends and developments in the area of Material Science & Engineering and provide the student with an opportunity to expand and broaden his knowledge.
